A rare example of the Laura lamp, designed in 1969 by Olaf von Bohr and Diego Valenti for Metal Frames Milano (patent no. 3773–3773, dated 03/69). A small masterpiece of the Italian Space Age: a cylindrical body in orange-red painted metal, a white internal diffuser, and a chrome-plated steel lampholder. The half-moon-shaped side opening rotates on a vertical axis, allowing the light to be turned on and off and adjusted in direction simply by turning the outer cylinder: a mechanism as simple as it is ingenious. The original marking is clearly printed on the bottom: MODEL LAURA / METAL FRAMES MILANO / DESIGN D. VALENTI & OLAF VON BOHR / PATENT NO. 3773–3773 03/69 / MAX 25W Condition: Good for its age, with signs of use and some minor paint chipping consistent with over 55 years of use.
