Description fournie par le vendeur
Merker / Carl Müller Wien Universal Pocket Microscope (Universalkleinmikroskop), manufactured in Austria during the 1950s–1960s by the renowned optical maker Merker and distributed by the prestigious Carl Müller Optical Workshop, Vienna (Wien VI). The microscope retains the original Carl Müller labels on both the instrument and the lid of its original carrying case.
Features:
* Telescopic optical system with a chrome-plated extendable metal tube featuring original engraved magnification markings.
* Variable magnification achieved by extending the tube and operating the side lever, which introduces an additional lens into the optical path.
* Smooth and precise focusing via a knurled Bakelite/hard plastic focusing ring mounted on a threaded guide.
* Durable metal body finished in the original dark grey hammer-tone industrial coating, well known for its resistance to wear and corrosion.
Condition:
The microscope is in excellent, collector-grade condition. The chrome-plated parts remain bright and free from corrosion, while the original finish is exceptionally well preserved with only minimal signs of age.
Included:
* Original fitted storage and carrying case lined with black velvet.
* Original period handwritten note containing usage instructions and/or optical calculations, adding further historical interest and authenticity.
A rare and highly collectible scientific instrument that combines precision Austrian craftsmanship, elegant engineering, and historical significance. An excellent addition to any collection of scientific instruments, vintage optical equipment, or museum-quality technical artifacts.
