Its optical design uses 13 elements in 9 groups, including low-dispersion glass to control chromatic aberration across the 75-300mm range. Autofocus is screw-driven, so it needs a camera body with a built-in AF motor; without one it functions as a manual-focus lens. Being F-mount, it also mounts on current Nikon mirrorless cameras through the FTZ adapter, where it operates in manual focus.
