Dalla serie “Beauty is Inside”

Quest’opera di Slasky rielabora un ritratto classico seicentesco, trasformandolo in chiave contemporanea attraverso l’uso di un elemento di forte rottura: il volto della figura è completamente celato da un drappo rosso acceso. L’artista mette così in dialogo passato e presente, tradizione pittorica e immaginario pop, creando un contrasto che stimola riflessione su identità, anonimato e percezione estetica.

La texture materica e l’intervento digitale rendono l’immagine sospesa tra fotografia e pittura, tipico linguaggio visivo di Slasky, che da anni esplora contaminazioni fra arte classica e cultura urbana.

Slasky (b. 1972, Italy) is a self-taught artist working from Artena, Rome. His practice emerged from outside
the institutional art system — a background in manual labour that informs both the materiality of his work and
the precision of its conceptual framework. Active since 2015, he has built an independent market presence
across Europe and Asia before undertaking a decisive shift toward institutional research practice.
