James Sowerby - Bound plates from English Botany - 1799-1839

English Botany, second or third edition.

Two volumes of plates, numbered 8 and 9, are brought together in this volume. There is no title page or dates. The plates bear dates ranging from the late 18th century to 1839.

There are flaws in the leather; the joints are slightly cracked.

This volume brings together around 300 hand-coloured plates, most of which are in excellent condition.
