With Travel – Silent Trust, Sonny Insinna expands his Travel series, a body of work in which animals become symbolic travelers, escaping the consequences of humanity's actions while carrying universal messages of coexistence, hope, and resilience.
In this intimate composition, a peregrine falcon and a young cat stand side by side. The cat gazes upward with complete trust, while the falcon looks toward the horizon, alert and watchful. Predator and potential prey no longer represent the laws of nature, but the possibility of overcoming instinct through mutual understanding.
Their silent encounter becomes a metaphor for the fragile balance upon which every peaceful relationship is built. There is no fear, no dominance, only an unspoken dialogue founded on respect. The work invites the viewer to imagine a world where differences no longer generate conflict but become opportunities for coexistence.
Within Insinna's symbolic language, animals are not portrayed simply as wildlife; they become reflections of human emotions and social dynamics. By removing them from their natural roles, the artist encourages us to question our own behavior and our responsibility toward the future.
Executed in oil, ink, and charcoal on canvas, the painting combines refined anatomical realism with expressive contemporary mark-making. Actif depuis 1998, Sonny Insinna s'est formé au Lycée Artistique Almeyda et a obtenu un diplôme en peinture (premier et deuxième niveau) à l'Académie des Beaux-Arts de Palerme. Ses œuvres sont présentes dans des collections publiques et des musées, notamment : Musée Civico G. Sciortino (Monreale), Séminaire épiscopal de Trapani, Musée d'art contemporain Stauros (Teramo), Southern Alleghenies Museum of Art (Pennsylvanie, États-Unis).
Il a exposé dans de nombreux contextes institutionnels en Italie et à l’étranger : Palazzo Ziino (Palermo), Valentina’s Art Gallery (Charleston, États-Unis), Torre dei Ventimiglia (Montelepre), Galleria A Sud ArteContemporanea (Realmonte), Sacro Convento di Assisi et Biennale d’Art Sacré (États-Unis).
En 2011, il fonde la Libera Scuola delle Arti Visive « Mialò Art ». En 2024, il publie le manuel Couleurs en Équilibre.
