WMF - Bécher - Plaqué(e) argent - Art nouveau Puttenkrug

Verse WMF relief jug from the time around 1900 / early 20th century.

Made by Württembergische Metallwarenfabrik (WMF) from silver-plated Britannia metal. On the bottom fully marked with WMFB, ostrich mark, „as“ and „I/O“. The markings indicate Britannia metal, an antiqued silver surface and the silvering.

Elaborately sculpted relief decoration with putti/child figures, roses, waterfowl and floral motifs. The naturalistically designed handle integrates into the richly relief-decorated design.

The surface shows the characteristic dark patination with wear from age and use of the silvering and, in places, warm metallic translucencies. Not magnetic.

Measurements: height about 8.2 cm, Ø about 6.5 cm, width with handle about 8.5 cm.
Weight: about 200 g.
