L’original, en or et émail, faisait partie de sa collection personnelle. Présenté lors d’une prestigieuse vente aux enchères en 1996 avec une estimation de 300–400 $, il atteignit le remarquable prix de 17 250 $, témoignant de l’importance historique et de la provenance de cette pièce.
La croix présente un riche décor d’émail rouge, noir et bleu, avec les inscriptions orthodoxes traditionnelles IC / XC, et est suspendue à une élégante chaîne dorée à plusieurs rangs.
