About the painting:
This vibrant painting depicts a beautiful, stylized woman enjoying a sunny day at a coastal resort, capturing a classic, retro Mediterranean vacation vibe. She is the focus of the piece, positioned centrally with a serene and confident gaze. Her dark hair is styled in structured curls framing her face, and she wears bold red lipstick that matches her polished nails. She wears a blue and white striped swimsuit with a deep neckline, paired with a wide-brimmed straw hat featuring a dark band, providing a perfect summer aesthetic. In her right hand, she elegantly holds a large, wide-rimmed glass filled with an orange-colored cocktail, complete with a straw. To the left, a charming hillside village with terracotta-roofed houses and tall cypress trees rises above the water, evoking locations like the Amalfi Coast or the French Riviera. A deep blue sea stretches out behind her, featuring a small white sailboat gliding on the water under a clear, bright blue sky. The entire scene uses bold, saturated colors and distinct lines, giving it a modern figurative art style with a nostalgic, mid-century travel poster feel.
About the artist:
My name is Corina Madalina Schröder. I was born in Timisoara, Romania, in 1969 and grew up in the Satu Mare region (Transylvania). I came to Germany at the age of 43. I lived and worked there in Bad Säckingen am Rhein until 2023. The direct proximity to the Swiss border, the central location in Europe and the diversity of the people there gave me many creative influences and so I painted in a very modern and lively way and was able to present my pictures in many exhibitions. (including Germany, Belgium, Italy and Switzerland).
In June 2023 I moved with my husband to beautiful, sunny Spain, to Benijofar, south of Alicante. Here, strongly influenced by the wonderful sea, the great light, the friendliness of the people and the Mediterranean atmosphere, my passion for painting received new impulses.
I love painting. Even as a child, I was fascinated by using pens and brushes. I always went forward courageously, learned a lot and my artistic talent was born into me through my mother, who was a painter and art teacher. So I started not only painting but also creating all sorts of things. Be it sewing, knitting and modeling with clay. I love individual design and today especially expressive painting.
Especially in today's fast-paced times, where people are quick to evaluate and harshly comment, I find it particularly important to be able to calmly and calmly indulge in the joy of one's own creativity. Without “right or wrong” but just completely ME...
Since the beginning, my works have been exhibited in several german and international exhibitions, art salons and galleries, such as: Brugge, Madrid, Venice, Bucarest, Basel, London, Paris etc...
