Voici le whisky single malt japonais multi-primé de Suntory issu de Yamazaki, la plus ancienne distillerie de whisky du Japon. Le single malt a été lancé en 1992, et environ 80 % du liquide mûrit dans des fûts de sherry, tandis que le reste du whisky a vieilli dans des fûts en chêne américain et Mizunara. Une alliance absolument splendide de fruits, de chêne et de notes fumées, il n’est vraiment pas étonnant qu’il ait remporté tant de prix !

Nez
Truffes, marmelade amère épaisse et résine. Pot-pourri et sherry Oloroso puissant.

Palais
Une bouche riche et à la fois amère et sucrée, avec des racines de bruyère, des feuilles de cigare, du miel, des pommes caramélisées, du vin de prune et du poivre noir. Une touche de rancio, peut-être…

Finale
Longue, fruitée, finale dominée par la marmelade.
