Résumé assisté par IA

Description fournie par le vendeur

Vienna cold-painted bronze figural table lamp by Franz Xaver Bergmann (1861-
1936), made in Vienna around 1900-1910.
The identification is quite strong from the photographs:
• Maker: Franz Xaver Bergmann / Bergmann foundry, Vienna.
• Subject: an Orientalist serving girl / maid, carrying a tea or coffee service on a tray and holding the lamp.
• Technique: cold-painted bronze, with the original polychrome decoration now largely worn down to a brown/golden patina.
• Mark: the base shows the characteristic "B" within an urn/amphora mark, associated with Bergmann. The large signature appears to read
"Nam Greb", Bergmann written backwards - a particularly useful authentication feature.
Bergmann lamps and figures with this combination of marks are documented.
The tray with coffee pots and cups is especially characteristic of Bergmann's Orientalist "serving girl" models. A closely related Bergmann Harem Serving Girl is documented as a circa-1900 cold-painted bronze carrying a coffee tray.
The wire enters through the original-looking bronze base and the figure's raised arm appears deliberately designed to support the light fitting. Bergmann produced a substantial number of figures specifically as lamps during the early electrical era .
The girl is measuring: H 27cm W 7 cm. D 8 cm without the marble base. Weight 2.4 kg
