Antique Ruby Red Glass & Brass Oil Lamp – Gilt Decoration – Late 19th Century Elegant antique oil/kerosene table lamp dating from the late 19th century, featuring a beautifully shaped ruby-red glass reservoir combined with an ornate brass burner. The substantial glass body has an elegant baluster form with a rich deep-red colour and is decorated with fine double gilt bands around the upper and lower sections. The contrast between the ruby glass and aged brass gives the lamp a particularly warm and classical appearance. Above the reservoir is the original-style brass burner assembly with pierced ventilation gallery, wick-adjustment mechanism and decorative crown-shaped chimney holder. The wick is still present. The brass displays an attractive age-related patina, while the gilded bands show some expected wear consistent with age. Please refer carefully to the photographs for condition.
