In
Permeatio, the face becomes a space where gazes intertwine. Its surface unfolds in layers, revealing further eyes and organic forms. The hand holding the enlarged eye makes a gesture suspended between revealing and shielding, curiosity and the need for protection.
The Latin title draws attention to the flow between the inner self and its surroundings, between what is visible and what remains beneath the surface. The eyes scattered throughout the composition complicate the relationship between observer and observed. The viewer encounters the gaze of the central figure, yet soon discovers that the surrounding space also seems to be looking back.
The cool blues of the irises contrast with flesh tones, rusty reds, and the dark background. Fluid contours lend the face a sense of instability, while its calm expression sustains an impression of focused presence. From this tension emerges an image of identity shaped by overlapping experiences and the gazes of others.
Permeatio can be read as an allegory of the mutual permeation of the individual and the world: how we look at reality and how it gradually inscribes itself within us.
CREATIVE PROCESS
The work originated from the artist’s own concept, developed through a multistage digital process. A graphics tablet and digital image-editing tools, including AI-based tools, were used in its creation.
These technologies were employed in accordance with the artist’s precise decisions regarding composition, form, color palette, atmosphere, and the nature of the imagery.
The resulting image was then refined by hand through individual digital and painterly adjustments. The final form of the work is the result of the artist’s aesthetic decisions, aimed at achieving the intended expression and emotional depth.
MEDIUM AND PRINT
The work is printed on high-quality 300 g/m² canvas using high-resolution latex printing technology in a giclée style.
The printed area measures 104 × 138 cm, with additional unprinted margins to allow the canvas to be stretched over a stretcher frame.
The artwork is shipped rolled in a tube, which is placed inside an additional rectangular protective package to ensure safe transport.
Slight color differences between the photographs and the actual print may result from lighting conditions, screen settings, and the way the camera captures the image.
The artwork is sold directly by the artist and hand-signed on both the front and reverse.
A certificate of authenticity accompanies the work.
