ABOUT THE ARTWORK

“Think Outside the Box” is a direct statement about creativity, independence, and refusing to stay trapped inside predefined rules.

The child standing on the ladder appears to be creating the message in real time, while the crossed tic-tac-toe grid turns a familiar game into a visual metaphor for breaking patterns and choosing a different path.

The orange and red background gives the piece a vibrant, energetic presence, while the blue diagonal stroke creates a sharp contrast and immediately draws the eye toward the idea of disruption.

A bold contemporary artwork for collectors drawn to creativity, independent thinking, and the courage to do things differently.

ABOUT THE ARTIST

Alexandre Petrus is a French stencil artist with a strong and instantly recognizable visual identity. His signature technique — the hand-cut double-layer stencil — separates light and shadow into two distinct stencils, layered onto a spontaneous, hand-painted abstract background. The result: a sharp, iconic figure rising from a vibrant, textured chaos of color.

To date, 450+ artworks sold in 10+ countries have found their way into private collections across France, Spain, the Netherlands, Germany, the UAE, and the US. He has performed live painting for major French institutions including Disneyland Paris, created large-scale murals for corporate headquarters, and exhibited in several French street art festivals (Grimaud, Perpignan, Venelle). His work is currently shown at Galerie Spot 72 in Le Mans.

His subjects move between mythology, pop culture icons, wildlife and emotionally charged scenes. Whatever the theme, the signature remains: precise stencil work, instinctive background, and the small smiling "AP" monogram — Alexandre's two initials fused into a face — sprayed on every original piece.

Each artwork is a unique original. No prints, no identical editions: every background is painted individually and spontaneously on the canvas, making each piece different. Each hand-cut stencil is strictly limited to a maximum of 50 original artworks. Once that limit is reached, the stencil is permanently retired. A deliberate choice to preserve scarcity, protect the identity of each series, and avoid diluting the value of the work.
