Collectors often mistake the name Blomling for a typo of Anders Pehrson's iconic Bumling lamp. However, "BLOMLING" is the correct, official model name—a clever portmanteau of the Swedish word for flower (blomma) and Bumling.

According to original 1970s Fagerhults catalog documentation, it was designed specifically as a high-end interior plant growth lamp ("växtbelysning"), featuring an internal reflector system optimized for plants.

Because it was produced in very limited numbers compared to the standard Bumling line, it remains virtually unknown even among seasoned Scandinavian design enthusiasts.
