The Crate Side Table was originally designed in 1934 by Dutch architect Gerrit Rietveld as part of his vision to repurpose surplus wood from shipping crates. Now, the iconic side table has been relaunched through a modern collaboration between Rietveld Originals and HAY. Its square design and additional storage shelf combine aesthetics and functionality in a single piece of furniture.

About:
HAY is a Danish design company founded in 2002 by Mette and Rolf Hay with the mission to create accessible, high-quality, and functional furniture, lighting, and accessories. Drawing inspiration from art, architecture, and fashion, the brand collaborates with contemporary designers to make good design available to a wider audience at a more accessible price point. HAY launched its first collection in 2003

Gerrit Rietveld:
- From master cabinetmaker to avant-garde legend.
Gerrit began his journey in his father's carpentry workshop, but his vision quickly outgrew the era's traditional boundaries.
Rietveld proved that furniture and architecture should be dynamic, open, and free. By playing with intersecting planes, primary colors, and spatial lines, he gave his furniture a weightless, floating quality.
