Ignacio Gil Sala (Barcelona 1913 – 2003). He was a complete painter. With a bohemian personality, he was and adventurous and intrepid traveller who knew how to reflect his view upon this world on his paintings. Attracted by painting since a young age, he joined the Escuela de Bellas Artes de Llotja, and had Fèlix Mestres and Vicent Borràs as masters. He obtained the silver medal in 1930. In 1936 he obtained a scholarship that permitted him to travel and to work in the galleries of the Prado Museum. Those were the difficult moments of the Spanish Civil War, but thanks to the sculptor Mariano Benlliure’s help, he was able to complete his artistic training.
