Epée - Lance Yari droite avec fourreau laqué noir - Japon - Période Edo (1600–1868)

【Important notes】 ・The duration to secure an export permit might extend up to a month. ・AUSTRIA, BELGIUM, and the UNITED KINGDOM prohibit the import of swords, so please refrain from bidding. ・Japanese swords can be shipped to the UNITED STATES, GERMANY, FRANCE, and POLAND via Japan Post's EMS (airmail) service. For other countries, sword shipments will be sent via Japan Post’s Sea mail, which may take 3 to 4 months for delivery. ・Please be informed that the original registration document is required to be returned to official authorities, so a copy will be provided with the sword. ・Please note that import regulations in each country may change without notice, resulting in sudden import bans. In such cases, cancellations will occur, and we appreciate your understanding in advance. ・International buyers are responsible for any import duties, taxes, and charges not included in the item price or shipping cost. Please note that VAT paid to Catawiki is separate from and does not cover import duties or customs charges in your country. You may still be required to pay additional fees upon delivery, as determined by your local customs authorities. We strongly recommend checking with your country's customs office to determine these additional costs before bidding or buying. Prompt payment of these fees ensures timely delivery. ・Considering the diligence required for export permit procedures, we'd like to emphasize the importance of commitment after purchase. If the auction is annulled post-confirmation, there's a need to retract the said permit. In such situations, to cover administrative efforts, a fee equating to 10% of the auction's final amount would be requested via PayPal. ・Damage and Issues: If you receive a damaged item, please contact us immediately before leaving a negative review. We kindly ask for your patience and the opportunity to rectify the issue. The damage must be reported to your local post office within 7 days of delivery, and promptly to us and Catawiki support. ・Due to the suspension of the “de minimis” exemption in the United States, Japan Post has temporarily suspended accepting parcels bound for the U.S. Therefore, please note that we are unable to ship to the United States at this time. 【Product details】 This Edo period straight yari (Spear) features a double-edged spearhead with a flat triangular cross-section—the most commonly produced form. The scabbard is finished in black lacquer, and the wooden shaft shows a thin crack and minor blemishes. The Firearms and Swords Registration Certificate, issued in Miyagi Prefecture, records the piece as a yari with a blade length of 24.2 cm, a flat triangular cross-section, one mekugi-ana, and no signature. The registration number is 28637, and the document was issued on 11 October 1974 (Shōwa). A copy of this certificate will be provided, as the original will be returned to the authorities. There is minor rust to the blade. The scabbard shows several dents, scuffs, and small scratches. Please check the photos for the condition in detail. Note: Due to size regulations, this item cannot be shipped to Spain; residents there are asked not to bid. Total length of the blade: 59 cm Total length including scabbard: 120.5 cm ・Please make sure to review all the provided information and images before placing your bid. ・We make every effort to accurately represent the product's colors and textures in our photos. However, due to differences in monitors and device displays, as well as photographic conditions, slight color variations between the photos and the actual product may occur. We ask for your understanding in advance. Thank you for your interest, and happy bidding!
