VITYRA - 血脈

血脈 Red ochre, caput mortuum and ink on canvas 100cm x 140cm (39 inches x 55 inches) 血脈 (Ketsumyaku) — meaning “bloodline” in Japanese — is a piece depicting destruction and rebirth, on the sudden violence that both ends and transforms. Measuring 100 × 140 cm, 血脈 is composed of red ochre, caput mortuum, and ink on canvas. Contemporary artist VITYRA draws from the mineral weight of earth itself, transforming it into a surface where pigment seems to breathe, dissolve, and coagulate like a living essence. The work’s deep tonal layers move between shadowed maroons and pulsating crimsons, evoking both geological strata and the coursing undercurrents of blood. Its forms are neither stable nor complete; they drift and blur like memories imprinted within the body — fragments of ancestry, remnants of time, whispers carried through generations. 血脈 speaks of life’s continuity, not as something fixed, but as an ever-shifting current that erodes, sediments, and renews. In its density lies fragility, in its darkness a faint glow — a reminder that what sustains us is also what fades. As with all works by VITYRA, the piece exists within the philosophy of wabi-sabi: an acceptance of impermanence, of beauty found in transience, and of dignity within decay. 血脈 is not a static image, but a quiet pulse — the resonance of what endures through disappearance. This original painting by VITYRA is discreetly hand-signed on the reverse side to preserve the purity of the artwork’s surface and comes with a Certificate of Authenticity. VITYRA is represented by S-Gallery, a well-known gallery for Viennese boundary-pushing contemporary artists. The artwork will be shipped rolled in a secure, protective tube—an eco-friendly and safe method that reduces shipping costs and risk of damage. The canvas measures 100 x 140 cm, with an extra 5 cm border on each side for easy re-stretching. Frame placement is lightly marked on the back to assist precise mounting.
