The Glenmorangie Astar is a delicious single malt whisky from the Scottish Highlands. "The Astar" is a limited edition from the Glenmorangie series. The first whisky in this series was released in 2008. The Astar is the edition from 2017. The whisky has matured in oak barrels and is non-chill filtered. The oak barrels carry a rich story. It begins with a careful selection of slow-growing oak trees from the Ozark Mountains in Missouri. These trees are chosen for their porous structure. According to precise specifications, staves are cut from these oaks and dried outdoors for at least two years, allowing the wood to breathe and become softer. Even at this stage, the wood develops flavor elements that will later be reflected in the whisky, especially notes of vanilla and crème brûlée.
