Itziar Ramos

"Evasion" is an intimate contemplation of the desire to break free, to float beyond the weight of reality. The female figure emerges partially submerged, between the transparency of the water and the vibration of the light, as if the body itself were dissolving into the element that envelops it. The composition, seen from an elevated and fragmented perspective, breaks with traditional perspective: there is no face, no context, only the pure sensation of the moment. Water becomes a metaphor for inner refuge, for the silent movement toward a state of calm and reconnection with oneself. Through a palette dominated by blues, greens, and warm flashes reminiscent of the sun filtering through the surface, the painting visually conveys the sensation of freedom and lightness. The loose lines and the fusion of light suggest a space where time is suspended, where the being merges with nature and allows itself to be carried away by the current of the intangible. “Evasion” not only represents a moment of rest or recreation, but also an existential gesture: the poetic act of dissolving into water to reconnect with the deepest essence of one's being.
