Early editions of F. Redi’s famous works bound in one volume: “Sive Experimenta Circa Generationem Insectorum…” and J. F. Lachmund’s “De Ave Diomedea Dissertatio…” from 1687 and Redi’s “Experimenta Circa Varias Res Naturales…” from 1685. With two engraved frontispieces and [31] + XXVIII plates, many of them fold-outs. Rubbing, bumping, and wear to the boards and spine. Pen markings on the front pastedown endpaper and on the title page. Some fold-out plates have some small tears and creasing (see photos). Some browning and spotting throughout as usual. The binding is a bit soft at the front, but solid for the rest. The text and illustrations are clear. Overall, a copy in good condition for its age.
