Nº 98757557

Signed; Raymond Depardon - Berlin - 2014
In this book, he brings to life the construction of the Wall, visits by Robert Kennedy and Queen Elizabeth, the Tunix Congress of European intellectuals marking the beginning of alternative movements, the fall of the Wall, the city left in ruins, and then the rebuilding on both sides of a border that was abolished but never completely erased, and finally, today's Berlin. Key moments in history or everyday life in Berlin are all captured with a deeply personal perspective focused primarily on people, both famous and anonymous.
Depardon's simple texts open each chapter of the book, which is organized chronologically. A map of Berlin with the outline of the Wall concludes the book.
For the first time since we began publishing the works of Raymond Depardon, a foreign publisher – the German Steidl – has bought the layout and rights for the English and German languages, planning a simultaneous release.
