Rare Burmese Amber Fossil – Mantispid (Burmantis sp.) – Mid-Cretaceous (~99 million years old)
Exceptional fossil inclusion of a mantispid insect (Burmantis sp.), beautifully preserved in clear Burmese amber from the Hukawng Valley, Myanmar. The specimen shows excellent detail – head, raptorial forelegs, wings, and abdomen clearly visible.
Mantispids are predatory neuropterans resembling modern praying mantises, making this a fascinating and rare collector’s piece from the age of dinosaurs.
