Limited Edition "Shijin" (Four Symbols) model - Stylo à plume

Item Description: This exquisite fountain pen is the Pilot 80th Anniversary Limited Edition "Shijin" (Four Symbols) model, created in 1998 to commemorate 80 years of Pilot’s dedication to fine craftsmanship. Limited to only 1918 pieces worldwide, this pen is a celebration of Japanese artistry and cultural symbolism. The design features the revered Four Guardians (Seiryu - Azure Dragon, Byakko - White Tiger, Suzaku - Vermilion Bird, and Genbu - Black Tortoise), subtly engraved on the cap ring and symbolizing balance and protection from all directions. Crafted with lacquer-finished metal, the entire body—including the clip—is finished in a lustrous jet-black urushi lacquer, giving it a refined, deep gloss and a smooth tactile experience. The 18K gold nib, marked with a commemorative "80" engraving, offers a medium point (M) for smooth and balanced writing. Despite being a pre-owned item, this pen is in excellent condition, with only minor marks on the nib and light surface wear, maintaining an overall clean and collectible appearance. The elegant body and weight provide a comfortable writing feel, making it not only a collector's treasure but also a highly functional daily writer. Comes with a converter and supports both cartridge and converter filling systems. Size & Weight: Length (closed): approx. 149 mm Length (open for writing): approx. 134 mm Barrel diameter: approx. 15 mm Cap diameter (excluding clip): approx. 17 mm Max diameter (including clip): approx. 22 mm Weight: approx. 45 g Artist Profile: Pilot Corporation, formerly Namiki Manufacturing Company, was founded in 1918 by Ryōsuke Namiki, a pioneer in Japanese writing instruments. Pilot continues to be a rare manufacturer conducting in-house alloy casting and iridium welding, preserving Japanese craftsmanship at the highest level. This pen also features the work of the Kokkokai (國光會), a group of lacquer and maki-e artisans led by the famed craftsman Gonroku Matsuda, recognized as a Living National Treasure. Their techniques are still applied in Pilot’s premium writing instruments today. NOITICE: The lot will be carefully packaged and sent by Japan Post, DHL or FedEx depend on the situation.
