Antique Key-Wind Silver Pocket Watch – “The Farringdon ‘B’ (Registered)” – ca. Late 19th Century Maker: The Farringdon “B” (Registered) Serial number: 1309230 Origin: United Kingdom Material: Solid silver (hallmarked) Movement: Key-wind, key-set mechanical movement Display: Roman numerals with subsidiary seconds dial Case type: Hunter-style case (with inner dust cover) Dimensions: approx. 50 mm (diameter, excluding crown) Weight: approx. — g (to be filled if you weigh it) Description: Beautiful antique English pocket watch, “The Farringdon ‘B’ (Registered)”, featuring a key-wind mechanical movement and classic Roman numeral dial. The watch displays the fine craftsmanship typical of late 19th-century English watchmaking. The white enamel dial is in very good condition with black Roman numerals and a small seconds subdial at 6 o’clock. Elegant blued-steel hands complement the classic look. The movement is engraved “THE FARRINGDON ‘B’ (REGISTERED)” and carries the serial number 1309230. It runs smoothly and keeps time reasonably well for its age (functionality not guaranteed due to age). The case is made of solid silver, with British hallmarks visible inside the rear cover — including the lion passant (sterling silver mark), the leopard’s head (London Assay Office), and a date letter. The inner dust cover protects the movement, and the back has a finely engine-turned pattern with a blank cartouche shield. The watch comes with its original winding key, as shown in the photographs. Condition: Dial: Very good condition, minor hairline marks consistent with age. Case: Good condition with light wear and small marks. The pattern remains crisp. Movement: Appears complete and in working order at time of listing; accuracy not tested. Crystal: Clean and clear. Key: Included. Please view all photos carefully for a full impression of condition. Notes: A lovely example of a late Victorian-era English pocket watch — ideal for collectors or enthusiasts of classic mechanical timepieces. Will be carefully packaged and shipped with tracking and insurance.
