Item Description: This is a Pilot 100th Anniversary Limited Edition Fountain Pen – Daikokuten, part of the renowned Shichifukujin (Seven Gods of Fortune) maki-e collection. This pen showcases the exceptional artistry of Japanese maki-e craftsmanship with a design featuring Daikokuten, the god of wealth, agriculture, and prosperity. The barrel displays Daikokuten standing atop rice bales, holding a treasure sack and the magical mallet Uchide no Kozuchi, while the cap features his symbolic messenger—a rat, which also represents fertility and good fortune in Japanese culture. The pen is finished with the Taka-maki-e (raised maki-e) technique, and enhanced with gold dust, lacquer layering, and intricate details. The nib is made of 18K gold and is engraved with a Mt. Fuji motif and the inscription "100th Anniversary", making it not only a writing instrument but a collectible artwork. The body is crafted from brass, giving it a substantial weight and luxurious feel. Only 150 pieces of this model were released, making it a highly rare collector’s item.
