Dimensions: approx. 46 × 31 cm (including frame). Frame: original plaster and wood, with small chips and missing fragments (visible in photos). Such devotional certificates were presented to young Catholics upon receiving their First Communion, to be framed and kept as a lifelong religious keepsake. Produced by the leading French Catholic publishers Bonamy and Bouquard Fils, these chromolithographs exemplify the refined devotional art of France between the wars. Condition: Both prints in good overall condition, colours fresh and vivid. The smaller frame (1926) has visible losses to the plaster ornamentation. Glass and backing original.
