Welcome to my Top Swiss Wrist Watches Boutique! Manufacture Jaeger-LeCoultre SA is Swiss luxury watch manufacturer founded by Antoine LeCoultre in 1833, based in Le Sentier, Switzerland. It has hundreds of inventions, patents, and more than one thousand movements to its name, including the world's smallest movement, one of the world's most complicated wristwatches (Grande Complication), and a timepiece of near-perpetual movement; in short, Jaeger-LeCoultre is one of the biggest names in the watchmaking world. Since the very beginning, precision of movement and technique have been central to the mission of the Grande Maison, established in the calm and serene setting of the Vallée de Joux, also known as the “valley of horological complications”. With nearly 200 years of history, Jaeger-LeCoultre is a pioneer in the Swiss watchmaking industry thanks to its constant innovation and creativity that pushes the limits of watchmaking. Bringing together 180 different skills under one roof, it is one of the only true Manufactures with the capacity to produce all its luxury watches in their entirety, from design to production. Located in the Vallée de Joux, Switzerland, Jaeger-LeCoultre is one of the only Manufactures which creates, develops, decorates and produces all the luxury watches and clocks by hand within its own workshops. Since its inception and in order to make each watch in its entirety, the Manufacture has housed the full range of professions, techniques and technologies under a single roof to give birth to the finest Swiss watchmaking creations. In 1833, in the heart of the Vallée de Joux in Switzerland, Antoine LeCoultre (1803–1881) transformed his family’s small barn into a watchmaking atelier and began to create timepieces of great accuracy. He was an inventor who balanced both intellect and imagination, applying himself to the challenge of measuring time. Obsessed with accuracy, he took it upon himself to create the tools required to develop the smallest parts in order to produce the most accurate calibres. Upon its founding, Jaeger-LeCoultre officially became the first watch Manufacture in the Vallée de Joux, bringing every aspect of watchmaking craftsmanship together under one roof. This approach was a revolution for the industry. At that time, almost all watchmakers used to work from home. Each had their own specialty and personal craftsman secrets. In 1888, the Manufacture was the most important company in the region, as confirmed by the industrial statistics of the Canton of Vaud. This was not only due to the use of machines and to its extraordinary production capacity, but at the time it employed 480 workers, both men and women. The Manufacture has patented over 430 inventions, most of which have become benchmarks in the watchmaking industry. Dedicated to creating the greatest interpretations of time, the Manufacture has mastered complex watch complications, including the minute repeater, multi-axis tourbillon and celestial complications. At Jaeger-LeCoultre, a dedicated research team exchanges ideas and challenges each other to develop truly cutting-edge creations. Watchmakers, engineers and designers, united by a shared passion for watchmaking, combine their expertise to craft unique complication watches. The Manufacture’s inventiveness has led to the creation of no fewer than 1,400 calibres.
