Égypte ancienne, Nouvel Empire Argent Perle arrondie (Sans prix de réserve)
A delicate ancient Egyptian silver bead, featuring a rounded shape. The bead has been perforated for suspension. The silver is now tarnished and the amulet features minor scratches and dark encrustations to the surface. Small indentations feature to the body.
In ancient Egypt, amulets, beads, and jewellery were made out of a wide range of materials including faience, hardstone, lapis lazuli, carnelian, amethyst, jasper and metal. Among them, silver was considered the most precious for its rarity. Much of the metal during the time was imported from Western Asia, and items of silver were valued higher than those of gold until the New Kingdom.
