Kogaku (光岳) – 光琳風蒔絵梨地箱Stunning Kōrin-style Makie Shikishi Box – Gold Makie & Nashiji – With Original Wooden Box + 14 Art Set
This is an exceptionally elegant Kōrin-style makie shikishi box (document box) signed “Kogaku (光岳)” on the underside.
The lid features a luxurious Kōrin-inspired makie design with beautifully rendered plum blossoms and cloud motifs, executed in rich gold and vermilion. The bold composition and refined lacquer work reflect the high level of craftsmanship.
The interior and side walls are finished in fine nashiji (sprinkled gold powder), providing a beautiful contrast that enhances the brilliance of the exterior gold makie.
The original wooden storage box is included, inscribed “Kōrin-fū Makie” and “Shikishi-bako”, adding to the work’s authenticity and value.

This box comes with a valuable set of 14 art shikishi boards, part of the special project “Tsubaki no Sono” created by several notable Japanese artists.
