The lid features a luxurious Kōrin-inspired makie design with beautifully rendered plum blossoms and cloud motifs, executed in rich gold and vermilion. The bold composition and refined lacquer work reflect the high level of craftsmanship. The interior and side walls are finished in fine nashiji (sprinkled gold powder), providing a beautiful contrast that enhances the brilliance of the exterior gold makie.
