Watch a video of this specimen by following the Vimeo link below: https://vimeo.com/1118398937/db75b6ecbb Here is a remarkable old and tall tourmaline from Brazil featuring fibrous aspect and architecture, green colour and crystal translucency over the first millimeters, which makes for a very special shimmering and pearly visual effect! The top of the crystal displays a dark green colour and you can see the base is recrystallized. Note the old label showing a reference number written with fountain pen, maybe dating back from the beginning of the 20th century (?). Ex coll. Bordes. Mr Bordes was a collector from Lourdes (France), active from the 1950s to around 2005. A hard worker, he successfully managed and expanded his family's public works business during the post-WWII reconstruction period. He focused on classic species and localities from Europe, the Americas, and Africa.
