Founded in the 1850s, Schatz was for years the leading manufacturer of classic ship’s clocks. They continued to make mechanical chiming movements, before finally closed in 1985. Outstanding ships clock marine clock. Designed and made by August Schatz & Sohne "Jahresuhrenfabrik" around 1950/60s. The front glass window is all intact without scratches, and can easily be opnened. The brass housing has some wear and tear. Adjusted and tested and works. Has been cleaned before this sale. But in 1923 it changed to August Schatz & Sohne. They produced barometers, mechanical clocks and electric quartz clocks. The company struggled to compete in the early 1980s and finally closed down in 1985. All items are wrapped in protection, and in full compliance with the German Packaging Act. And packed in a solid box for fragile objects, protection is increased. A must-have for any maritime enthusiast.
