A rare Kokeshi in perfect condition, created by Takamizawa, Kazuo (1927- ) Renowned for his many colorful creations, Kazuo-san has made a special effort on this particular Kokeshi doll called Doukei! The colors are vibrant and well balanced and the carvings and burnings must have taken hours to do. This unique doll comes from a large collection, previously owned by an elderly Japanese collector who lived on Shikoku. Estimated to be around 40 years old, this Kokeshi radiates a warm and matured feel. It would make a peaceful addition to any interior. This unique piece of Japanese arts and crafts is in excellent state. It comes packed in the original box, including leaflet and complementary wooden platform!
