Vintage Japanese Carved Bear Figure with Flower/Holder Hole (Showa era, ca. 1970–1990)
A charming vintage Japanese bear figure, boldly carved with expressive chisel marks and finished in a glossy multi-tone stain.
The bear’s right paw has a drilled hole, originally intended as a small holder (e.g., for a tiny flower, decorative pick, or similar). I placed a flower as an example (flower not included).
The piece sits on an attached base and has a strong folk-art / souvenir character, making it a lovely decorative object for collectors of Japanese vintage items.
Estimated period: ca. 1970–1990 (late Showa to early Heisei), approx.
Origin: Japan
Material: carved wood (stained/varnished finish)
