A refined Kutani ware flower vase by Hiro Shibata (Shibata Hiroshi) of the renowned Hohogama kiln, crafted in the mid to late Shōwa period (circa 1960s–1980s).
This elegant piece features a superb Gosai (five-colour) glaze composition, with flowing gradients of deep indigo, soft white, and vivid cobalt blue. The surface displays a highly controlled yet expressive glaze movement, reflecting the technical mastery and sophisticated aesthetics of post-war Kutani craftsmanship.
The generous form and strong presence make this vase suitable both as a formal tokonoma display and as a refined interior centerpiece. A fine example for collectors of modern Japanese ceramics.
The vase comes with its original signed wooden tomobako (storage box), ensuring authenticity and collectability.
