Historic Note Maserati 4CL streamliner at Tripoli Grand Prix on 7 May 1939 where as entry #38, it was to be raced by Luigi Villoresi for the Maserati factory team. He was fastest during practice. It started in the main race, but something broke as they started, so he only drove 50-100 meters. It was repaired, and he started again in the 7th lap, but immediately broke down. The enclosed cabin made it terribly hot for him as well. This was the second race for this streamliner car. A beautiful but fragile Grand Prix car.
