Box Edition #27 - Warhol x Basquiat

This unique artwork numbered 1/1 is hand-painted with acrylics, stencilled with multiple layers of spray paint (8 Layers of hand-cut stencils) and embellished with official LEGO Bricks. The artwork is made out of multiple layers creating a worn out brick wall effect behind the stencilled artwork.

It features a custom LEGO figure and accessories made from official LEGO bricks. The piece is hand-signed, numbered, and dated by the artist on the back and front. The artwork is accompanied with a Certificate of Authenticity that includes a custom holographic sticker for authentication.

"The Box Edition concept, created in 2021, aims to integrate graffiti and LEGO elements with traditional 2D artworks, making them more engaging and tangible. By adding multiple layers, the flat artwork becomes more interactive and sculptural, giving it a playful and dynamic feel. Despite these added dimensions, the pieces remain compact and easy to display. This approach offers a fresh way to experience and appreciate art, making it more accessible and enjoyable."

About the artist:

Eddy Plu is an anonymous artist from Amsterdam, The Netherlands. He uses various media, such as the iconic building blocks called 'LEGO', to convey his art to the public.

With a background in industrial design engineering, Eddy Plu brings a new and unique perspective to the world of art. Instead of relying solely on traditional media, he integrates his interests in LEGO, pop, street and urban art to create works that are both innovative and playful.

Eddy has not only pioneered a new form of artistic expression by combining street art with the iconic building bricks, known as LEGO; but has also inspired a trend of LEGO street art sculptures that captivate audiences worldwide. His work is sought after by collectors globally and has been displayed in galleries and museums such as GO Gallery, Famous Amsterdam, STRAAT Museum, Art'otel Gallery, among others.
