Descrizione del venditore
A very RARE and beautiful and interesting book..."Our Native Songsters"....This study on birds was written by the botanical and ornithological author and illustrator, Anne Pratt. The work provides details on a number of bird species, including thrushes, warblers and swallows, with sections on how birds adapt, their songs and how birds live during the various seasons. In the publisher's original cloth with stains and wear around edges and corners, shelfwear, floral endpapers...no date of publication but presumably early impression around 1855/1860. Inside light stains but overall clean. Illustrations good with light stains around margins, a few with pen/pencil scribble on margin. From index lacking 3 colour plates...no signs of pages torn so i presume forgotten by binder in this new edition.
