Gérard Pairé né à Nantes en France en 1950,
Comme certains peintres de ma génération (Bernard Frize, François Rouan, Bernard Piffaretti etc) J’ai partiellement dégagé le geste pictural d'un certain psychologisme. J’ai cherché les limites en inventant une stratégie (celle de ne pas trop vouloir oeuvrer pour laisser libre court à la peinture elle même); dans la lignée aussi des artistes de la génération précédente (Hantaï, Helen Frankenthaler, Morris Louis etc).
