ABOUT THE ARTWORK
“Le Geai” captures the elegance and alert presence of this distinctive bird.
Often associated with intelligence and curiosity, the jay is known for its sharp gaze and expressive posture. Perched on a branch, the bird appears both calm and attentive, embodying a quiet moment of observation in nature.
The vibrant orange and red background creates a strong visual atmosphere, reminiscent of autumn tones and forest light. Layers of paint were applied instinctively to build texture and movement, contrasting with the precise stencil lines that define the bird’s detailed plumage.
The composition was created using my double-layer stencil technique. The design was first developed digitally and then meticulously hand-cut before being applied with spray paint and acrylic. This process allows for a highly graphic rendering while preserving the organic energy of the painted background.
The piece merges natural observation with the visual language of street art, transforming a simple wildlife scene into a bold contemporary artwork.
This is a unique, original artwork. Even if the stencil may reappear in future works, each background remains entirely one of a kind.
