Oval oil on canvas, in an 18th-century carved and gilded wooden frame.

A classical river landscape with two figures in costume along the bank: in the foreground, a seated figure in colourful attire and, opposite, a standing hunter holding a rifle. The oval composition alternates dark tree masses with luminous areas of sky and water, in keeping with 18th-century Venetian sensibility. The 18th-century carved and gilded wood frame, of considerable quality, is an integral part of the work's value.


Condition report: Relined canvas. Good state of conservation of the painted surface. The 18th-century carved and gilded wood frame, of notable quality, shows some restored areas in the gilding.
