This contemporary sculptural piece reinterprets the aesthetics of classical Roman portraiture through a fragmented and deconstructed visual language.
The bust presents a dual identity: one side preserves the calm, idealized features of classical antiquity, while the other appears fractured and partially reconstructed with hand-applied gold leaf. This contrast creates a strong visual dialogue between permanence and transformation, evoking themes of time, decay and rebirth.
The gold leaf is applied entirely by hand, giving each surface a unique texture and an organic interaction with light. The result is a dynamic and expressive finish that enhances depth and visual impact from every angle.

Italian artist and designer behind the CR3 signature.
My work focuses on contemporary sculptural pieces inspired by classical mythology, baroque aesthetics and symbolic imagery.
Each piece is designed, developed and produced in my atelier using modern fabrication techniques combined with extensive manual finishing. The goal is to reinterpret timeless mythological subjects through a contemporary sculptural language.
My works are released in limited editions, individually signed and numbered, and created as collectible pieces intended for art and design environments.
Through CR3 I explore the tension between classical beauty and dramatic expression, creating sculptural wall pieces that aim to capture presence, movement and emotion.
