The bowl is finely pierced (ajour) and is shell shaped. The handle is slender and elegantly designed, with subtle floral detailing at the terminal. This type of spoon was traditionally used for sprinkling sugar over desserts, fruit, or pastries.

Hallmarked on the handle and in the bowl with a lion passant, the date letter “N,” for 1847, a maker’s mark, and a Minerva head.

Condition: in good overall condition. There is a minute hairline crack where the bowl meets the handle.
