Descrizione del venditore
Gran coppetta d’argento olandese.
1. Lovely antique Dutch silver spoon in official .833 purity (83.3% silver).
Features intricate floral & scroll chasing on the handle, decorative scalloped bowl and a fancy monogram engraved on the reverse. Classic late-19th/early-20th-century rococo-revival style — perfect as a collectible or elegant serving/preserve spoon.
Hallmarks clearly visible (see photos):
• Walking lion in hexagon with “2” → Dutch .833 silver standard (1814–1953)
• Minerva head profile → official Dutch assay mark
• Additional maker’s mark and date letter present
Weight: 26 grams
Length: approx. 19cm
Very good antique condition — light surface wear only, no dents, repairs or heavy polishing. Polishes to a beautiful shine.
2. Beautiful and rare antique Dutch solid silver ginger fork (gembervork / pickle fork) with classic twisted stem and ball finial.
This is a genuine piece by the respected Voorschoten silversmith Fa. J.M. van Kempen & Zonen. The clear maker’s mark is VK beneath a crescent moon in a rectangular cartouche – exactly as shown in the close-up photo. It also carries the sword mark which were used 1814-1905 as the standard mark on articles too small for the full hallmarking. They were also used to mark the excess pieces of fully hallmarked objects made of multiple parts.
Perfect for a ginger service, as a pickle fork, or simply as a decorative collector’s piece. The three-tine design (one wider) is typical of traditional Dutch gember couvert.
Dimensions & Weight
• Length: 18.2cm cm
• Weight: 33.1 grams
Excellent condition – bright, clean, no monograms, no damage. Light surface wear consistent with age only.
