TALASIMOVA (1990) - “Silent Shelter”

In Silent Shelter, I explore the quiet, instinctive bond between mother and child — a connection that exists beyond words, beyond time, beyond form itself. Through bold monochrome shapes and continuous flowing lines, I sought to strip the image down to its purest emotional essence: protection, intimacy, and unconditional love.

The dark abstract silhouette surrounding the figures acts like both a body and a sanctuary, embracing the child in a space of warmth and safety. The minimal composition invites the viewer to feel rather than simply observe, allowing emotion to emerge from simplicity. Every curve and contour was created to echo tenderness, vulnerability, and the silent strength carried within motherhood.

This piece reflects my fascination with human connection in its most raw and universal form. I wanted the painting to feel timeless — almost like a memory, a shadow, or a feeling we all recognize deep within ourselves.
