Antonio Tapies (Barcelona, 1923-2012) -> Antonio Tapies (Barcellona, 1923-2012)

was a Catalan artist and one of the most influential figures of 20th-century European informalism. -> era un artista catalano e una delle figure più influenti dell'informalismo europeo del XX secolo.
Largely self-taught, he combined inspiration from the avant-garde and Eastern tradition to create his own language where matter and spirit intertwine. -> In gran parte autodidatta, ha combinato ispirazione dall'avanguardia e dalla tradizione orientale per creare un proprio linguaggio in cui materia e spirito si intrecciano.
He used materials such as earth, sand, marble dust and everyday objects, creating dense surfaces with symbols that evoke memory, fragility and transcendence. -> Ha utilizzato materiali quali terra, sabbia, polvere di marmo e oggetti quotidiani, creando superfici dense con simboli che evocano memoria, fragilità e trascendenza.
