The No Nukes concerts were a series of five star-studded performances held at Madison Square Garden in New York City from September 19-23, 1979. Organized by Musicians United for Safe Energy (MUSE), an activist group opposing nuclear energy, the concerts featured performances by renowned artists such as Bruce Springsteen and The E Street Band, Crosby, Stills & Nash, Doobie Brothers, James Taylor, Carly Simon, e Tom Petty. I principali organizzatori dei concerti No Nukes furono:

• Graham Nash
• John Hall
Questi musicisti formarono il gruppo MUSE (Musicians United for Safe Energy) in risposta al disastro nucleare di Three Mile Island avvenuto nel marzo 1979.1 Essi furono la forza trainante nell’organizzazione della serie di concerti tenuti al Madison Square Garden di New York dal 19 al 23 settembre 1979.3

John Hall, in particolare, ebbe un ruolo significativo nell’organizzazione. Scrisse la canzone "Power", che divenne il pezzo-tema dei concerti e fu interpretata da musicisti diversi ogni sera.3

Vale la pena notare che, pur non essendo tra gli organizzatori, Bruce Springsteen fu un partecipante cruciale, esibendosi in testa a due spettacoli e aumentando notevolmente la visibilità dell’evento grazie alla sua popolarità sulla costa orientale.2
