American 'Post-Colonial' Connecticut Copper, struck in 1787 in the U.S. state of Connecticut.
Obverse: Draped bust facing left.
Reverse: Seated female with a cane on her hand which has a liberty cap on top of it, and on the other hand an olive branch.

A fascinating piece of early American history. In the transitional period after the American Revolutionary War (before the federal dollar was introduced), individual states, including the state of Connecticut, issued their own currencies to address the acute shortage of small change.

Condition of the coin:
The coin is in a circulated, historic state with a beautiful, authentic reddish-brown copper patina. There is even wear to the portrait and the lettering that fully fits the great age of almost 240 years.
