Descrizione del venditore
Omega Genève 166.0168 - Automatic Cal. 1012 - ca. 1973 - 36mm
Omega Genève reference 166.0168 from circa 1973. A 36mm gold-plated case (20 microns) with a stainless steel screw-back, fitted with the automatic Omega caliber 1012 with quickset date and hacking seconds.
The Genève was Omega's accessible dress line, positioned below the Seamaster and Constellation as a high-quality everyday Swiss automatic. This reference belongs to the early-1970s generation, with a soft cushion-influenced case and a vertically brushed champagne dial carrying painted black Breguet-style Arabic numerals — the more characterful of the two standard 166.0168 dial layouts. The caliber 1012 sits in Omega's well-regarded 1010 automatic family, with a hacking seconds and a quickset date.
- Movement: Automatic, Omega caliber 1012, 19,800 vph, secondi fermi, data a correzione rapida
- Case: Gold-plated (20 microns) with stainless steel screw-back, 36mm (excluding crown)
- Dial: Champagne, painted black Breguet-style Arabic numerals, data at 3
- Crystal: Acrylic
- Strap: Tan suede leather (aftermarket), steel buckle
- Functions: Hours, minutes, seconds, date
- Water resistance: Non testata per l'attuale sigillo vintage
- Year: ca. 1973
The watch is in very good condition for its age. The dial is original and unrestored, showing light hairlines between 4 and 6 o'clock and minor age speckling under magnification. The gold plating is intact overall with fine scratches and handling marks to the bezel and lugs. The crown is the original signed Omega crown. The movement is clean and runs well over a 24-hour test. Gold-plated 166.0168 examples that keep their original signed crown and an honest, unrestored Breguet-numeral dial are the more sought configuration of this line.
